About Babbage
Babbage is a free maths practice site. Pick a topic and it generates a fresh worksheet every time, so you can keep practising until the method sticks — then reveal the model answers to check yourself.
Why “by hand”?
Babbage sets questions and shows answers, but it deliberately does not mark your working. The learning happens when you write out a full solution yourself, on paper, and then compare it with the model answer. Reading a worked answer is not the same as being able to produce one.
Who it's for
It started as practice material for the Maths1 and Maths2 engineering modules, but it's open to anyone who wants to practise. If there's a topic you'd like added, get in touch.
The name
Babbage is named after Charles Babbage, the mathematician and engineer who designed the first mechanical computers.
